The Swiss franc is the currency of Switzerland. Our records show the Swiss franc is the tenth most traded currency with us. The banknotes are printed on Durasafe, a three-layer substrate. The Swiss National Bank (SNB) is responsible for issuing the Swiss banknotes.
The Swiss National Bank is currently implementing a new series of banknotes for the first time in 20 years in order to provide high-security standards. This new series is being phased into circulation from 2016-2019. In addition to Switzerland, the franc is exchanged in Campione d’Italia and Liechtenstein.
