The Malaysian ringgit is the currency of Malaysia. The banknotes have both a paper banknote and polymer (plastic) banknote series in circulation. The Central Bank of Malaysia (BNM) is responsible for issuing the Malaysian banknotes.
The Malaysian ringgit was originally referred to in “dollars” and “cents” but is now called “ringgit” and “sen”. The newest series of the banknotes is named ‘Distinctively Malaysia’ and features traditional expressions in the art and craft, natural wonders, flora and fauna, and economy and tradition.
