The Bulgarian lev is the currency of Bulgaria. The banknotes are printed on paper. The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) is responsible for issuing the Bulgarian banknotes. The Bulgarian National Bank is a member of the European System of Central Banks and works to help strengthen the banking and financial system in the European Union. Their mission is the maintain the stability of the national currency.
