In 2016, the Central Bank of Seychelles introduced a new family of banknotes. The bills feature various native flora and fauna along with upgraded designs, colors, and security components. Some features on the new series include the Seychelles Blue Pigeon, Seychelles Scops Owl, Wild Bilimbi, and the Carrot Tree.
