The Trinidad and Tobago dollar is the currency of Trinidad and Tobago. The banknotes have both a paper banknote and polymer (plastic) banknote series in circulation. The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago is responsible for issuing the Trinidad and Tobago banknotes. The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago has produced banknotes with various colors and themes. On the front of every banknote is the Trinidad and Tobago Coat of Arms along with a vignette of a native bird. The back of the banknote has an illustration of both the Central Bank building and a scene that is important to the country’s economic life.
