The Eastern Caribbean dollar is the currency of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States. The banknotes are printed on paper. The East Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is responsible for issuing the Eastern Caribbean banknotes. The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank is the monetary authority of eight of the nine islands that make up the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States. These include Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines. The Eastern Caribbean dollar has been pegged to the US dollar since 1976.
