The Lebanese pound is the currency of Lebanon. The banknotes are printed on paper. Banque du Liban (BDL) is responsible for issuing the Lebanese banknotes.
The Lebanese pound is often referred to as the “lira” in Arabic and the “livre” in French. The pound has been pegged to the US dollar since 1999, in an effort to restore stability and provide political support.
