The Fijian dollar is the currency of Fiji. The banknotes have both a paper banknote and polymer (plastic) banknote series in circulation. The Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) is responsible for issuing the Fijian banknotes.
The Fijian dollar is distinguished from the US dollar with the symbol FJ$. Fiji first announced its introduction of plastic-coated notes in 2006. The Fijian dollar is pegged to a weighted basket of currencies, including the Australian dollar, Japanese yen, New Zealand dollar, euro, and US dollar.
